⛰️ Monte Grappa
Monte Grappa, candidate for the UNESCO MAB Program of protection of the biodiversity, is a unique mountain ecosystem located in the Veneto region of Italy across the provinces of Treviso, Vicenza and Belluno. The mountain top peaks at 1700 meters on sea level and hosts a monumental memorial remembering the fallen of the First War War, that had in Monte Grappa its frontline, as the Italian troops including the heroic “Alpini” mountain fighters defended the last line from the Astro-Hungarian offensive in the 1915 -1918 conflict. Today Monte Grappa offers breathtaking landscapes from the Venice Lagoon to the Alps and Dolomites in Italy, making it a magnet for sustainable tourism and leisure travel in Europe.

Monte Grappa is a major center for outdoor and active tourism activities such as climbing, trekking, mountain cycling, paragliding and rafting. Over 50 paths 440 CAI certified paths and 330 of other paths and 19 pre-set climbing walls serve mountain hikers and climbers, whereas cycling enthusiast can challenge themselves with raising on the top of the mountain, in a 20 km ride of 1500 meters height with parts up to 18% slope, as well as 14 off-road mountain bike paths. The mountain is also one of the best places in the world for free flight sports such as paragliding and cross-country flying, as the hot air currents from the Adriatic crush on the mountain’s crest creating strong lifting air streams.
🧀 Morlacco Cheese and Malghe
Every summer, since hundreds of year, breeders in the lowlands take the cows in altitude to freely roam the mountain and feed of local herbs and fresh water, the unique composition of food, water and air goes into the milk which is then used to produce the mountain’s unique “Morlacco” cheese: a delicacy hard to find in traditional stores, best enjoyed on the mountain. The “Malghe” are traditional mountain inns where, during the summer, adventurers seeking relief from the city heat, seat and eat local products, produced here in a sustainable manner where nothing goes wasted.
