We are Sanya (Mama) and Lara (MamaNana). We both love to cook and experiment in the kitchen. This is just a fun way for us to spend a little extra time together during our busy lives.
Our channel will focus on WFPBNO (Whole Food, Plant Based, No Oil) Vegan recipes and cooking tips. If you’re not vegan, but following a HCLF (High Carb, Low Fat) lifestyle, these recipes will still be perfect for you.
Episode 12: We hope you enjoy this super easy Marinara recipe. We love the simplicity it lends as a base to any other ingredients or flavors you wish to add.
Authentic Italian Marinara Sauce
Fresh or canned tomatoes (if canned, use 2- 28oz cans, peeled and crushed)
Garlic; 4 to 6 cloves, minced
Dried basil, 2 to 3 tsp
Dried Oregano, 2 to 3 tsp
Salt; 1 tsp
Sugar; 1 Tbsp
Start with a hot pan and crush the dried herbs between your fingers; dropping into the pan. Let the natural flavors and oils release; no longer than 30 seconds. Add the minced garlic and a just enough water to saute; aprox 5 min. Add tomatoes and salt. Let sauce simmer aprox. 45min to an hour. Add some sugar to taste; just enough to marry the flavors.
