Cooking Meatballs with Italian Sauce – Filipino in New Zealand

Welcome to our channel. In this video my husband Ian will show you how to cook meatballs with tasty Italian sauce. Please see below the list of ingredients including the instructions. Happy cooking.

Ingredients
1 onion diced
Few cloves of garlic
I kilo pork, cut into small chunks
½ kilo pork mince
1 cup breadcrumbs
6 pieces of sausages
250 ml beef stock
1 small can of tomato paste
2 cans of tomato sauce (we used Watties ‘Pesto Style’ tomato sauce)
2 eggs
1 cup wine (optional)
2 tbsp brown sugar
Salt
Pepper

Instruction
1. Sauté the onion and garlic. Reduce the heat and sweat the onion.
2. Pre-heat the oven at 180° C
3. Make the meatballs. In a mixing bowl combine the pork mince, breadcrumbs, 2 eggs, salt, and pepper.
4. Roll the meatballs, put it on a baking tray.
5. Bake the meatballs in the oven for 20 minutes.
6. Put the sausages in the oven same time with the meatballs to brown up.
7. Add the small can of tomato paste to the sweated onion and stir.
8. Add the 2 cans of tomato sauce.
9. Add 1 cup of wine to the sauce mix, stir and let it simmer while we sear the pork cubes.
10. Sear the pork in the pan.
11. Add the seared pork to the sauce mix, let it simmer and add the meatballs and sausages when they are ready.
12. Do not forget to cut up the sausages in to bite size chunks.
13. Add beef stock and 2tbsp brown sugar.
14. Reduce the heat and let the sauce simmer for 2 hours.
15. Serve with either pasta, rice, or bread.
