The food is incredible. The deli and restaurant makes a sandwich so good, Travel Channel named it one of its “Best Places to Chow Down in America.” And our family has known the owners’ family since the place opened in the 1940’s.

Gloriosos’s Italian Market has been a part of Milwaukee’s Brady Street neighborhood for about 75 years. It’s been the part of millions of meals over the years, with its unique Italian dishes, meats, cheeses, bakery, gelato and the other items it offers in its market. It used to be the go-to spot for Italian families who wanted to make classic cuisine at home, or enjoy fresh-made sandwiches and lots of other cuisine.

It still is. But now it’s the go-to spot for so many others after its expansion and relocation down the block. It attracts fans from all communities in the Milwaukee area and beyond, and now has a nationwide following.

Little Man & I took in an afternoon at this hallmark ethnic deli of our hometown of Milwaukee.
