This Video is a very open and friendly chat betwenn me and Oscar regarding our ideas of Barolo and Wines in general and of what Oscar, Domenico Clerico Family and the Team want to achieve in the next future.
We talk about situation, about new steps, new ideas, new methods, about our idea of what a great Barolo shsould be.
Oscar point on the fact that for them the most important thing is to make the best Barolo from Monforte.
The world is changed comparing to 30 years ago and they customers and wine lovers evolved and now they are much more looking for fine and elegant wines.
So they need to start from what Domenico Clerico was able to do, from his great view and ideas of Barolo and move to a new approach to what Barolo, Nebbiolo, Barbera and more generally speaking can be Piemontese wines right now in this world.
Domenico started to make wines in teh moment where italian wines were always compared to Bordeaux and Napa Wines, so big and thick wines.
Now everything is different comparing to before.
So the winery is going towards more fine and elegant wines, trying and experimenting new aging methods always looking for the best drinkability and finesse possible.
Domenico Clerico wines must be wines that you can enjoy young and keep if you want.
But Domenico Clerico was very well known for his friendship and his way to always open and drink a bottle of barolo to point the fatc that wines connect people.
Oscar also talk about his dreams, they way he feels to be who took over Domenico Clerico ideas and views, about his philosophy and what they winery is up to.
They are a great team and they all work to make Domenico Clerico name more and more famous and popular within the wine world and wine lovers.
This video is the truly expression ofn what Oscar and myself think about Domenico Clerico and what a Barollo should be.
