Montalcino is a hill town in the province of Siena,Tuscany, central Italy.
The only component of the wines produced in Montalcino, Brunello di
Montalcino and Rosso di Montalcino, is Sangiovese, a red Italian wine grape
variety. Sangiovese derives its name from the Latin sanguis Jovis, “the blood
of Jupiter”.
