Presenting Meet the Producer, a virtual wine tasting with producers across the Italian peninsula! Each month, one of Cavinona’s winemakers will select three of their favourite bottles and host a virtual tasting where we will learn the story and characteristics behind each of their indigenous Italian wines. In addition to getting your wine, we will be emailing you your Zoom access link 24 hours before the start of your class. Once you get your kit, store all bottles in the fridge.

This month we have Tommaso Squarcia from Castello Tricerchi! Castello Tricerchi is a family-owned winery situated on the north side of the commune of Montalcino in Tuscany. At the heart of the estate is the castle from which the winery is named, completed in 1441 by the Tricerchi family and which still houses, in the former dungeon, the cellars of the winery. In the early 19th century the estate was passed down to the Squarcia family, direct descendants of the Tricerchis, who continue to operate the winery today. In 1995, Emanuele Squarcia and his nephew Tommaso ushered in a new era for Castello Tricerchi with the planting of new vineyards and by selling the wines through a local winemakers’ cooperative. In 2012, the family began making and bottling their own wines for export with the help of expert agronomist and winemaker Maurizio Castelli.

Purchasing individual bottles or all three bottles will give you access to the virtual tasting class. All wines come with an accompanying snack of taralli and olives. We look forward to having you join us in exploring the wines of Castello Tricerchi!

Which wines will we be tasting?
