Apple Cake | Torta di Mele | Easy way to make Italian Apple Cake

Ingredients:-
2 small apples
1/2 cup granulated sugar(115 grams)
1 stick butter (4 oz)112 grams softened
2 large eggs room temperature
Zest of lemon and juice of half a lemon
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
3 tablespoons Cointreau liqueur (you can substitute with orange juice)
1 cup all-purpose flour(140 grams)
1 tsp baking powder (5 grams)
Pinch of salt
1 tablespoon brown sugar or sugar in the raw
Powdered sugar for dusting
8 or 9-inch cake pan greased with a disk of parchment paper in the bottom.

Directions:-
Step#1 – Put your Oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit (180 Celsius)
Step#2- Peel and core your apple and cut into thin slices. Zest the lemon and the juice of half a lemon and combine it with the apples. Set this aside.
Step#3- In a bowl combine sugar and butter and with an electric mixer mix until light and fluffy.
Step#4- Add your vanilla and liqueur and mix.
Step#5-Combine your flour, baking powder, and salt and mix with a spoon, then slowly add it to the butter mixture with your mixer on low.
Step#6-You’ll have this creamy fluffy mixture. Add 2/3 of the sliced apples and with a spatula fold them in.
Step#7-Pour mixture in baking pan. Level with your spatula and now place remaining apple slices on top sticking them vertically.
Step#8-Sprinkle the brown sugar over the top.
Step#9-Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes.
Step#10- Let the cake cool and sprinkle a dusting of powder sugar before serving.
