:::::: Campo Tures (sand in Taufers) ::::::
In an open area and with an open heart, Campo Tures-Sand in Taufers receives its visitors at the entrance to the valley but then suddenly withdraws behind Tures-Taufers Castle. Massive, like a giant block of stone with several towers, it stands there, the medieval fortress, just as if it wants to prevent travelers from continuing on further into the Valle Aurina-Ahrntal, encouraging them to pause for a moment. And then, between the village of Gais and the main center of Campo Tures, landscape images open up that could hardly be more exciting. Right in the midst of the Vedrette di Ries-Aurina/Rieserferner-Ahrn Nature Park, where mountains try to vie with each other for height, visitors are fascinated by steep slopes, dense forests, lonely peaks, and wild waters. Mountain lakes, streams, the wild Aurino-Ahr River, and roaring waterfalls – the water of the valley bears the power of the mountains.

:::::: Taufers Castle ::::::
The settlement of Tvfres was first mentioned in the mid 11th century in the registers of the Prince-bishops of Brixen. The Tyrolean lordship was ruled from Taufers Castle, a huge medieval fortress which towers on a rock above the village and was built from the early 13th century onwards.[4] Restored in the 20th century, the preserved castle complex is a popular film location, providing the setting of the 1998 drama film The Red Violin, the 2003 comedy Just Married and the 2016 comedy Burg Schreckenstein [de]. It also served as a picturesque backdrop for Roman Polanski’s 1967 horror classic The Fearless Vampire Killers.

:::::: Hotel Vitaurina ::::::

Not only the host and the whole Vitaurina Royal staff will give you a heart-warming welcome: the traditional yet modern premises, fitted with warm wood and further high-quality natural materials make for a homely, intimate atmosphere. Here, you will feel more than just fine – you will feel at home.
Treat yourself to a substantial breakfast in the all-new dining room, a refreshing aperitivo: Aperol spritz or a native Hugo – bubbly prosecco with elder syrup – in our light-flooded winter sun parlour or at our hotel bar, maybe with some crispy patatine crisps to quicken the appetite?
After dinner in our rustic-modern dining rooms with musical accompaniment you should allow yourself a nightcap – a typical Tyrolean schnaps, a grappa or a Sardinian mirto on our cosy terrace.
While doing so, the beautiful mountain views of the Zillertaler Alps and the Rieserferner-Ahrn Nature Park of the charming Ahrntal Valley will never leave your side, such as the genuine hospitality of the Vitaurina Royal staff!
