Ingredients For 2 people
(Reverse cabbage rolls)
300g (0.66lb) Cabbage
8 Pork belly slices (thinly sliced )
Salt and pepper – a little bit each
Provolone cheese (substitute mozzarella, processed or sliced cheese, cut one piece into 4 equal widths and stack them together)
Flour – just the right amount
A little olive oil
(Simple tomato sauce)
1/2 tsp of olive oil
1 garlic clove (crushed)
1 canned boiled tomato
100ml (3.38fl oz) Water
200cc(6.7fl oz) White wine
1/3 tsp each of salt and pepper
A little bit of sugar
1 tbsp Granulated consommé
Rosemary, one branch.
3 to 4 Sages
Italian parsley
How to make
1) Cut the cabbage into 1cm wide slices, sprinkle with a little salt and place in a heatproof dish. Cover with plastic wrap and place in the microwave for 4-5 minutes (600W).
2) Spread the edges of the two pork belly slices so that they overlap slightly, sprinkle with salt and pepper, and then add the cooked cabbage. Top with more cheese and roll up the pork belly from the end.
3) Pinch the end of the roll with a toothpick and dust the entire roll with flour.
Tuck both sides of the roll in tightly.
4) Heat a frying pan over medium heat, add the olive oil and garlic, when it becomes fragrant, add the meat, roll it around and brown it over high heat, add the white wine and let the alcohol evaporate, add the can of tomatoes in water, the rest of the seasoning and the herbs, cover it and steam it on low heat for 5-10 minutes.
5) Done!
