I heard tiger-roaring engines.
Looked out the windows and what do you know.
It was a procession of cars for the famous 1000 Miglia or,1000 Miles.
Since 1927 hundreds of luxury and (now) vintage cars travel the 1000 miles starting at Brescia and turning back at Rome.
This portion, in Assisi, felt more like a parade.
Hooting and hollering their friendly Italian voices.
What a treat.
This was the 2019 Mille Miglia, 2020’s race is postponed to October 22nd.
