If you were wondering how to make Baked Apple Cider Donuts, then I will show you my easy recipe. This recipe is just perfect in this time of the year, cause autumn smells like apple, cinnamon, and cider.

This version of Apple Cider Donuts, as written in the title, is a baked one. So, you don’t need to fry anything. Just use a donut tray, but if you don’t have one, just use a small muffin tray to make apple cider donut holes.

Ingredients:

apple cider 250ml. (125ml. reduced apple cider)
2-3 cloves

Donuts:
flour 190g.
a pinch of salt
baking powder 1 and a half teaspoon
cinnamon powder 1 teaspoon
nutmeg half teaspoon
1 egg
brown sugar 100g.
vanilla extract half teaspoon
melted butter 45g.
kefir or buttermilk (or even yogurt) 30ml.

Topping:
melted butter 70g,
sugar 100g.
cinnamon powder 1 teaspoon

Instructions:

1. In a saucepan, pour the apple cider and boil it for 8-10 minutes, until it reduces its quantity into half. Once it is ready, let to cool.
2. In a large bowl, mix the flour with salt, baking powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
3. In a different bowl, mix the egg with brown sugar, vanilla extract. Add then the reduced apple cider, melted butter, and kefir and mix.
4. Add the mixture on the flour mix and combine.
5. Brush a donut tray or muffin tray with the extra melted butter left in your saucepan (I use this trick pretty often to avoid wasting butter)
6. Bake the apple cider donuts in the preheated oven at 175 for 13-15 minutes (use a toothpick to check if they are baked properly)
7. Once baked, let them cool and in a bowl, mix sugar with cinnamon.
8. Brush each donut with melted butter and then sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
