Workers in Italy have begun the grape harvest, but this year it’s looking very different because of the coronavirus.They spread across the vineyard, lining up in rows to keep social distancing, and they wear masks as they cut off clusters of grapes to make into wine.Where they once put eight workers in a car, now it is two.They wear masks and bring their own lunch.Italy’s wine industry was one of the first to take a blow with the coronavirus lockdown.Sales of Italian wine have dropped by 4% this year according to a study, the first time sales have gone down in 30 years.Italy’s wine industry is worth 11 billion euros a year and provides work for 1.3 million people.
