Pannacotta (Italian for “cooked cream”) is an Italian dessert of sweetened cream thickened with gelatin or china grass and molded. Panna cotta is a very basic pudding which is light, quick and easy to make and can feature an endless number of flavors, from chocolate, to pumpkin, to caramel to virtually any fruit. A bite of panna cotta is remarkably creamy, melting in the mouth without a trace of grittiness or lumps.
