Some of the best experiences are out of the cities and up in mountain communities where they celebrate everything. My visits to the villages around Castelbianco for the cherry and chestnut festivals were focused on the people, food and wine. Plenty of wine. Oh and coffee.
Traversing Italy by train is easy. My accomodation at La casa dei nonni was deightful. Host Andrea was very helpful organising transport so I didn’t need to hire a car. Breakfast was so filling, lunch wasn’t needed. Want to experience true Italian hospitality, get out of the cities and meet locals over wine and food.
