Beijing has launched a second investigation into Australian wine imports, accusing Canberra of using subsidies to give firms “an edge” over local rivals. Just two weeks ago, China started an “anti-dumping” investigation. Both probes cover wine in containers of two litres or less. Australia’s trade minister has denied allegations of subsidising or dumping. The Chinese market is Australia’s top market for wine exports, and is worth US$900 million a year.
