BASIC CMAS DIVING PATENTS CMAS Scuba Diver divers are qualified to:
Dive into the limits of their training and experience under the direct supervision of an Assistant Instructor or a CMAS Instructor by applying the knowledge and techniques they have learned in this course.
Obtain diving equipment; inflate bottles and other services to dive under supervision.
Under supervision, plan, make and record non-decompression dives in a natural environment under the conditions in which they have been trained according to their experience, only if they have adequate equipment and are accompanied by an Assistant Instructor or an Instructor .
Continue their diving training to complete their CMAS one star Daveur certificate and certain other specialty courses, such as Project AWARE and Equipment.
CMAS one star Daveur and Scuba Daveur courses must include a section informing students that they are responsible for their diving, and this within the limits of their training and experience. We explain to Scuba Daveur divers the limits of their certification.
The minimum age for one star Daveur and Scuba Daveur certificates is 15 years old at the end of the course.
Note: The minimum age required registering for a CMAS Junior Scuba Daveur or Junior One star Daveur course is now 10 years old at the start of the course. Additional conditions stipulate that Junior Davors aged 10 and 11 must dive with a parent, guardian or CMAS professional (and not any adult), until the age of 12. In addition, training dives must not exceed 12 meters.
Performance Based Training
The concept of the CMAS One star Daveur course is that of performance-based teaching. This means that the student progresses through the course by demonstrating that he achieves the measurable objectives of the teaching. The educational structure of the course puts the objectives in sequence from the simplest to the most complex.
In this way, the student progresses using the knowledge acquired previously.
Trying to learn something without achieving the previous objectives can complicate and compromise learning.
For this reason, the student must satisfactorily demonstrate the performance required for theoretical knowledge and exercises in the water, following the prescribed sequences.
A satisfactory demonstration is called “mastery”.
