Authentic Italian Tramezzino
Origin of Tramezzino:
The founder of tramezzino is Gabriele D’Annunzio, he invented the first tramezzino in 1925 at Caffè Mulassano in Piazza Castello (Turin, Piedmont, Italy).
The word tramezzino is the diminutive of the word tramezzo “in between” meant as a half-way between lunch and breakfast.
The tramezzino is a usually a triangular Italian sandwich constructed from two slices of pancarré (white bread) with filling in the centre. Popular filling include mayonnaise with tuna, olives, eggs, shrimps, but can be used anything that you like.
Today for my quick snack I prepared tramezzini with few ingredients that are available anywhere:
• Pancarré (white bread) 6pieces
• Tuna Fish (cans) 160g
• Shrimps 6pieces
• Green Olives 100g
• Mayonnaise
• Egg
Try it at home I hope you will like it! Let me know in comment box your experience.
Enjoy your meal!!!
Buon Appetito!!!
