Hello and welcome to our website. I’m Alessandra ( and I’m Maria, we are mum and daughter); exactly we are mum and daughter and we have the passion for food, in the specific she is in a deeply love with food, the local and Italian one, and I’m just helping her in this project.
She will be the one who will personally takes care about the packing of the food. Our mission is simply to let all the Italian food lovers to have the possibility to get the real and genuine food directly at their home. This is my mum’s dream because she knows how much difficult is to find good food in other parts that is not Italy. Sometimes was hard to find even in North Italy and if it there was, the price was really expensive and you can not afford every week.
Just for you to know, Calabria it’s in the deeply South of Italy, almost close to Sicily and it’s exactly from here that your food is coming from. I put the picture just for reference to show you where in the specific it is.
In our website you will not find commodity products, the one you can get on whatever website or supermarket chain, here we want you to have access at all the million variety of cheese for example, o meat or whatever Italian fresh food. Actually in these days I’ve discovered how many different kind of cheese we have, OMG, and even several different kind of meat as well. I’ve never realized that Calabria, the place we live it’s full of those. For sure many of those you already know if you even been in Calabria once or specially if you are from here and you just moved out of Italy.
Few years ago there were the great habit to send a box full of food to those who were living out from “south regions” and for example they moved to Milan, Turin or whatever city. The happiness of receiving the package was very high. As soon as you opened it you could smell all the scent of Calabria or of the regions of the South Italy anyway.
It was as if there was no food in the North …
In reality it was just like that; that food, that specific food was not there and if it was there it cost an arm and a leg.
I believe that today that habit has been a bit lost, a bit because those who stayed in the South are not very young people and do not have much energy to prepare the package and a little because you return more often to your homeland.
We designed few different kind of boxes for those who don’t want to waste time to choose the single food in the specific, but just wants to choose the main category of what they are going to eat more.
For example there are boxes of vegetables, fruits, cheese, meat, mixed ones…. so for each box my mum is taking care to choose what ever is in the season in order to keep our orientation to follow food with short chain. We prefer it a lot.
As you have seen my mum humor it’s almost always fun and I’ll try to spread around this positivity specially when we do things together.
