Rippon Estate, THAT Wanaka tree, Francesca’s Italian Kitchen, Amigos Mexican Grill, Originz gift shop, Roadtrip.
After conquering the stunning Aoraki Mt Cook National Park, we made our way to Wanaka – the next major destination on our South Island adventure.
Along the way, we passed the scenic lookout called Lindis Pass, before heading to what has just been named as a top 13 winery on the planet, and number one in Australasia – Rippon Estate. Here we sampled the best that the Central Otago wine region has to offer at their scenic cellar door.
Afterwards, we had dinner at the very popular (and very fun) local joint, Amigos Mexican Grill, before calling it a night at the Wanaka Lake.
The next morning, we checked out THAT Wanaka Tree to see it’s beauty up close and personal, before sampling some traditional home style cooking at Wanaka’s top rated restaurant, Francesca’s Italian Kitchen, for lunch.
We ended our stay in Wanaka by visiting almost every gift shop in town to find the perfect Magnet, making our selection at the gorgeous Originz Gifts by the waterfront!
