I step into The Oberoi, Bengaluru, for my first dine-in meal post lockdown, where I not only savour some of the signature specialities at Lapis, the all-day dining restaurant here, but more importantly, take a close look at the measures being employed by the hotel to ensure safety of guests and staff in these precarious times. From sanitisation of guests, their vehicles and belongings, to meticulous back of the house and kitchen processes aimed at fostering heightened levels of hygiene, to restaurant modifications that appear to not just take care of social distancing, but also airflow management, the team here seems to have made good use of the lockdown to ready services for the new normal.
