Around 6pm, when the computers are shut down and books are closed, chances are a bottle of Allora will peep up behind the other side of the monitor with a cheeky “Che facciamo stasera?” Translation; so what are we doing tonight? Which is often an easy-answer question (or at least for us…) when one of their Italian-inspired, but Australian-grown, wines are within reach.

Allora’s focus is to bring both famous and curious Italian varietals to life with a playful and charming Aussie twist. There’s no better place to play with scrumptious Italian varietals than in a region that has a strong Italian grape growing heritage; the King Valley in Victoria.

The King Valley is known for its diverse climate and soil throughout the region. This makes it the perfect place to nurture an equally diverse array of Italian grape types that have different needs to make a great wine like theirs. Also, low preservatives are used here to make sure the full Italian charm of these wines reach your lips and plans for tonight are settled.

Italy’s indigenous Canaiolo and Sangiovese grapes meet Australia’s king, Shiraz! This trio blend is a super great expression of the earthy, spicy and food-friendliness we love about Italian wine styles paired up with the juicy and concentrated fruit flavour we can always count on from Shiraz. Violets, sweet spiced cherries, blackberry, licorice and tar. The palate is concentrated and firm, while juicy and textured with rustic and dusty tannins and flavours of red plum, and earthy herbal sage.
