In October of 2019, we had the great pleasure of visiting Lake Como in Italy. We stayed in a beautiful AirBnb property overlooking the lake in a small area just outside Varenna. Everything about our stay in the area was magical and the only thing we’d change would be that we’d stay longer! Our AirBnb host connected us with the operator of a fantastic local restaurant (Osteria del Platano – see review below) where we had the great pleasure of dining twice during our short stay – they even make their own olive oil!
We loved the amazing food, walking and boating around the lake and taking in the natural beauty and the charming architecture. If ever in northern Italy, we highly recommend a visit to Lake Como and the area of Varenna, you will not be disappointed!
Review: Truly, this is CUISINE that is thoughtfully prepared and delivered with the utmost hospitality. Having dinner here is an experience, not just a meal, and you’ll walk away feeling like you’ve just dined with close friends or family. We loved our first experience so much that we went back for more the very next night. This is a must for anyone visiting the Varenna area.
