When in Italy…. do you know how to improve your chances of getting a date with an Italian?
If you love Italian food, then it’s highly likely that you love Italian wine.
Even if you don’t, you probably enjoy a refreshing Italian beer, or a limoncella or other aperitivo.
Either way, in Italy you want to ensure that you follow a simple rule of Italian etiquette when it comes to toasts, for two very important reasons….
If you watch the video to the very end, you’ll be able to gain access to a Special Guide that could make your introduction to la dolce vita…. even sweeter!
And now those two important reasons:
(1) To follow la bella figura, which effectively means in this scenario, the protocol or the polite way; and
(2) As a single person, you have a perfect opportunity to catch the eye of a potential admirer!
So, to whet your appetite further and to quench your thirst, this video explains how to improve your chances of getting a date with an Italian in Italy, by following 5 steps on how to toast…. the Italian way.
Step #1: Proposing the toast – whether you’re proposing the toast, or someone else is, look at all the people around you, and lift your glass, or after the proposal has been said, offer your glass forward.
All good, and probably no different as to how you’d do it in your own country, anyway.
However, here’s the important steps coming up…..
Step #2: Keep eye contact with the person you’re about to clink your glass with.
If you’re single, now do you see the opportunity this simple dating tip for you to implement, provides?
Step #3: Say (as it’s pronounced) “saluté”, or (as it’s pronounced), “chin-chin”.
Collectively, this is the equivalent of saying “cheers”in English-speaking countries.
In Italy, you have a choice, and depending on how the occasion catches you, an informal “saluté” amongst friends can be replaced with the term “chin-chin” for someone you’ve just met, that you’d like to get to know.
Step #4: Take a sip, and – this is important now, especially if you’re single – keep eye contact.
Step #5. Put your glass down….and enjoy the moment….!
Other ways of toasting, especially at larger gatherings, are by saying (which is pronounced as): “chento de questi giorni” (may you have a hundred of these days), or (which is pronounced as), “chent’anni” (a hundred years).
As you can see, simple, polite and, irresistible!
So, la bella figura – doing things the right way, is covered in the Special Guide we referred to earlier, entitled: 14 Reasons to Be a Happy Expat in Italy.
