‘Wine Therapy: Around the World’ is an Honest Grapes explorative, escapist series of online tastings which attendees can dip in and out of or come along for a full journey around the wine-producing regions of the world. Each scheduled tasting will comprise a set of three wines (sent in advance to attendees) and attendees join us live via Zoom.
For our 4th session, ‘Outside Chianti-shire – Italy’s Hidden Gems’, we tried a small selection of under the radar, future classics from the country that has the greatest longitudinal spread of vineyards in the world! Our choices, which go from (near to the) top to bottom, were:
– An organic, terrific value example of Sicily’s most successful indigenous white grape,
– The unsung hero of Piedmont and one of the food friendliest reds in the world – Barbera!
– A baby Brunello from superstar producer Castello Romitorio, and one of our top tips for finding great value in Tuscany.
