It’s Autumn in the Piedmont region of Italy. The weather begins to play up a bit, some days are sunny and beautiful, others can be rain and mist.
That can be a pity as this is the period of the year where most little towns and villages have planned their annual feast, whether for celebrating the mushroom season, the truffles, the chestnuts, the wine picking, and so on.. It’s a great opportunity to pay a visit, to explore and to discover Italian’s hidden gems, so called “Borghi“, usually ancient town centres with lots of architectural and historical character to see. However, once you’re well equipped with water resistant shoes and underneath your umbrella, is always great to be out and about… there’s also always a glass of wine and a delicious local dish to taste no matter where you are in Italy.
