Colombian National Army distributed humanitarian aid packages to the residents of Mochuelos Alto neighbourhood, located in Ciudad Bolivar, on Tuesday, amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

“Because of the pandemic caused by COVID-19, within the capabilities of the national army, we support by coordinating with institutions, with foundations, with civil cooperation in the search for humanitarian aid to benefit vulnerable communities,” Castiblanco explained.

According to reports, around 200 people were mobilised to distribute up to 5,000 aid packages in some 300 neighbourhoods of Ciudad Bolivar, including Mochuelo Alto and Mochuelo Bajo.

As of Wednesday, Colombia has 8,613 coronavirus cases and 378 fatalities, as data compiled by Johns Hopkins University shows.
