The lockdown continues…and we promised we’d put on another virtual tasting based on the amazing feedback we had from the last. We also said we’d throw some more obscure wines into the mix. We haven’t gone too nuts just yet but we reckon these next two will get you thinking…maybe English wine isn’t all Bacchus and Tradition Method Bubbles?
An alternative English sparkling – the Little Waddon Col Fondo 2018 (from Dorset) is made with 100% Phoenix in what is a very traditional Italian style. Col Fondo means ‘with bottom’ – they leave the lees in bottle so be sure to give it a gentle tilt upside down to mix all that yeasty goodness.
English red wine…not many around and can be difficult to make in our cool climate. However, we have found a screamer here from sunny South Devon – 100% Pinot Noir from the prolific 2018 harvest. An elegant wine bursting at the seams with Pinot Noir purity!
This is a recorded version of a live tasting which we conducted over on our Instagram page where we guided you through two wines, answered all your English wine related questions and guided you through another evening in isolation!
