Stuffed Shells
INGREDIENTS:
1 lb Italian sausage
2-3 cloves garlic, diced finely
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
1 cup grated parmesan cheese, divided
2 TB Italian seasoning
7.5 ounce container chive and onion cream cheese
1 egg
1 package jumbo shells
1 jar marinara sauce
INSTRUCTIONS:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Brown Italian sausage in a skillet until cooked through. Add garlic to the pan 30 seconds before the sausage is done cooking. When finished, put sausage and garlic mixture in a large bowl. At the same time, cook jumbo shells according to box instructions. When finished, drain in a colander and set aside.
Add 1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese, 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, cream cheese, and egg to the large sausage mixture bowl. Mix with a large spoon until thoroughly combined.
Add a layer of marinara sauce to the bottom of a 9×13 baking dish. Take a spoonful of sausage stuffing mix and stuff each jumbo shell. Add the stuffed shells to the baking dish. When all stuffed shells are added, pour additional marinara sauce on top of the shells. Sprinkle remaining mozzarella and parmesan cheese on top. Sprinkle additional Italian seasoning on top of that.
Cover baking dish with foil and bake in a 350-degree oven for 45 minutes. Take foil off and let bake an additional 10-15 minutes, or until cheese is melted and starting to brown. Enjoy!
